Bitcoin Faces Potential Downturn: 10x Research Warns of Double Top Formation

10x Research has issued a warning about Bitcoin's (BTC) price trajectory, suggesting that the world's leading cryptocurrency could be on the verge of a significant downturn. The report, by lead analyst Markus Thielen, points to a possible double top formation in Bitcoin's price chart, a pattern that often precedes a steep decline. The report identifies $61,500 as a critical level to watch, with a breach potentially leading to a drop to the low $50,000s or even further.
Thielen highlights several factors contributing to this bearish outlook, including declining liquidity in the crypto market, large-scale liquidations in both Ethereum and Bitcoin futures markets, extremely low Ethereum network activity, declining Bitcoin miner revenue, and potential over-positioning of futures traders. The report also suggests that the market may be overestimating the bullish impact of the Ethereum ETF approval, as crypto trading volumes have been among the lowest since the bull market began in October 2022.
The report emphasizes the importance of careful risk management, recommending that investors be prepared to sell at high levels to capitalize on potential buying opportunities at lower prices. Bitcoin is currently down 6% on Monday, falling as low as $59,900.
