Bitcoin Shark Wallets Hit Record High: What Does This Mean for BTC in 2025?

On-chain data reveals that Bitcoin shark-sized wallets have reached an all-time high, indicating a potentially bullish trend for BTC.
Key Bitcoin Investors in Accumulation Mode
According to data from Santiment, the number of shark wallets (those holding between 100 to 1,000 BTC) has surged, reflecting significant activity among key investors. This category represents wallets valued between $10.5 million and $105 million at current exchange rates.
Understanding Shark Wallets
Shark wallets are not the largest entities on the Bitcoin network—those belong to whales—but they hold considerable influence. The recent supply distribution data shows a notable increase in these wallets, with 15,777 addresses now classified as sharks.

As depicted in the graph, the supply distribution for the 100 to 1,000 coins group saw a sharp increase towards the end of 2024, suggesting a rise in new shark investors.
Broader Investor Activity
Interestingly, other investor groups, such as shrimps (owning up to 1 BTC) and crabs (holding 1 to 10 BTC), are also showing positive trends in accumulation. Recent data indicates that these smaller investors have collectively purchased 25,600 BTC in the last month, nearly double the Monthly Issuance from miners.

Current BTC Price
Currently, Bitcoin's price is hovering around $105,100, reflecting a period of sideways movement despite the growing interest from shark investors.
This accumulation trend among various investor groups could indicate a positive outlook for Bitcoin in the near future.
