BlackRock's Impressive Bitcoin (BTC) Holdings Soar to Over 300,000 BTC

BlackRock, a major player in the spot Bitcoin ETF market, has significantly increased its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings through its IBIT fund. In just five months of operation, IBIT has accumulated over 300,000 BTC in Assets Under Management (AUM), currently valued at approximately $21 billion.
This surge in holdings has propelled IBIT past Grayscale's GBTC, which had previously dominated the spot Bitcoin ETF market. The lower sponsor fee charged by BlackRock (0.25% compared to Grayscale's 0.9%) is believed to be a key factor in this shift. As a result, Grayscale's Bitcoin holdings have declined by 54%, while IBIT's have steadily grown.
Despite recent price fluctuations in the Bitcoin market, the spot Bitcoin ETF market continues to perform well, with IBIT registering net inflows for 18 consecutive trading days. This indicates that investor interest in Bitcoin remains strong.
