Crypto Market Dips: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin Down, but Top Trader 'Can't Be Bearish'

The cryptocurrency market is experiencing another downturn, with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and other major cryptocurrencies showing significant price drops. This downward trend comes amidst the emergence of the DJT meme coin, a Donald Trump-themed cryptocurrency, which has sent shockwaves through the industry.

Notable statistics reveal a surge in large transaction volume and long liquidations. IntoTheBlock data shows a 67.7% increase in large transaction volume, with transactions exceeding $100,000 spiking from 4,812 on June 16 to 6,958 on June 17. Coinglass data highlights long liquidations at $286.15 million, the highest since June 7, with Bitcoin long liquidations reaching their highest point since June 11.

Despite the market downturn, some analysts remain optimistic. Capo of Crypto commented that while altcoins are experiencing significant losses, Bitcoin and Ethereum remain relatively strong, stating "I can’t be bearish here. Buying more alts at a discount." However, Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, notes that long-term Bitcoin holder whales have sold $1.2 billion in the past two weeks, potentially through brokers. This sell-side liquidity could potentially influence the market, with brokers potentially depositing BTC to exchanges if it isn't bought over-the-counter (OTC).
