The iconic 'Be Someone' bridge in Houston, Texas, has returned to its traditional look after being adorned with a cryptocurrency message for the past two months. The bridge, which spans over Interstate 45 near downtown Houston, had been painted with the words "Mog Coin," a reference to a cryptocurrency dubbed as "the internet's first culture coin."
The Change Back to Tradition
An Instagram reel posted by urban explorer @lurkinghouston showed individuals working late at night or early in the morning to remove the cryptocurrency message. The bridge has now been restored to its original "Be Someone" message, much to the relief of locals who had expressed dissatisfaction with the crypto advertisement.

Public Reaction
The change was met with mixed reactions. Some residents were unhappy with the bridge being used to promote cryptocurrency, calling it a "scam currency." Others were simply glad to see the return of the familiar "Be Someone" message. The bridge is known for frequently changing its message, often reflecting political or social sentiments.
The Future of the Bridge
It's only a matter of time before the bridge's message changes again. Over the years, it has been used to promote everything from QAnon to anti-war sentiments. In 2023, an artist even faced felony charges for altering the bridge's message, though those charges were later dropped.
The "Be Someone" mural above Interstate 45 was vandalized and painted over with a cryptocurrency name earlier this year.
