Crypto exchange Bitfinex has released its latest Alpha report, providing an in-depth analysis of the cryptocurrency market, particularly focusing on Bitcoin's recent recovery and its implications for future trends.

Bitcoin's Significant Rebound

The report highlights a remarkable rebound in BTC, which surged nearly 28% from its recent low of $49,000, recovering above the critical $60,000 mark after a sharp sell-off in August. This recovery is evaluated through various key metrics, suggesting that Bitcoin may be nearing a local bottom.

Mayer Multiple dropped to 0.88, a level not seen since the FTX collapse, indicating the severity of the current market conditions. Additionally, the Short-Term Holder Realized Price stands at $64,860, with the Short-Term Holder MVRV ratio reflecting the largest unrealized losses since 2022, which underscores a deep bearish sentiment among short-term investors. Bitfinex notes:

“Overall, these metrics underline the deep bearish sentiment and stress among short-term investors, which usually occurs at local bottoms.”

U.S. Economic Analysis

The report also touches on the U.S. economy, which remains resilient with decreasing jobless claims and rising wholesale inventories, supporting growth in Q2. While household debt has slightly increased, stable delinquency rates indicate that borrowers are still contributing to economic activity. Furthermore, the services sector has shown signs of recovery, alleviating recession fears. Notably, financial giants like Blackrock are expanding in the digital asset market as the SEC continues to monitor cryptocurrency developments.
