Summary:

  • JD Vance reveals a net worth exceeding $4 million.

  • His assets include $250,000 in Bitcoin and significant investments in index funds.

  • Vance's financial disclosure is much shorter than Trump's 100-page document.

  • Estimated net worth by Forbes is around $10 million.

Sen. JD Vance of Ohio has recently unveiled a glimpse into his finances, showcasing a considerable net worth following his success as a best-selling author and experience in venture capital.

The Republican vice-presidential nominee's financial disclosure is notably less extensive than that of his running mate, former President Donald Trump, whose report in 2023 spanned over 100 pages. Trump is currently awaiting the deadline for his 2024 report after filing for two extensions.

Vance's financial disclosure indicates that he and his wife, Usha Vance, possess at least $4 million in assets. However, they also report liabilities, including a $250,000 mortgage and a $500,000 line of credit with Charles Schwab.

Among their significant assets are:

  • At least $1 million in an Invesco index fund
  • Multiple exchange-traded funds valued at at least $500,000
  • Bitcoin holdings worth at least $250,000
  • An estimated $500,000 stake in his former venture firm, Narya Capital, where he served as a partner until December 2022 after his election as a U.S. senator.

While officials are required to report their assets and liabilities in rough ranges, this makes it difficult to ascertain their exact net worth. Vance is not obligated to estimate the value of his primary home. In July, Forbes estimated his net worth to be around $10 million.

A spokesperson for Vance has yet to respond to Business Insider's request for further comments.
