With over 2.6 million users across Latin America, Lemon is set to transform the crypto landscape in Peru. Users can now transfer fiat currency to and from their Lemon accounts seamlessly. According to Tomas Field, Lemon’s PR Manager, the platform has gained over 12,000 users in just three months since its launch in the country, with an ambitious target of reaching 120,000 users by 2024.
The initiative aims to facilitate the onboarding of Peruvian users into the crypto market, enabling them to easily purchase digital assets. Federico Biskupovich, Lemon COO, emphasized the importance of this service:
"Until a few months ago, to buy cryptocurrencies in Peru you needed to be an expert. Starting today, users can pay or exchange soles from any account to Lemon and buy cryptocurrencies instantly. This is a great year for the Peruvian financial ecosystem."
In May, Marcelo Cavazzoli, Lemon’s founder, announced the launch of the crypto-only phase in Peru, highlighting that it is a Latam product designed for the region. The first phase will help the company gauge the real demand for its crypto offerings.
