Strive Asset Management has made headlines with its plan to launch an exchange-traded fund (ETF) that will invest in bonds issued by companies financing their Bitcoin investments. This move is outlined in a recent regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The Vision Behind the ETF

Co-founded by Vivek Ramaswamy, a notable figure aligned with President-elect Donald Trump, the Strive Bitcoin Bond ETF aims to provide investors with exposure to convertible securities from companies like MicroStrategy. The ETF is designed to invest both directly and through derivative instruments such as swaps and options.

Focus on MicroStrategy

The filing highlights MicroStrategy, a software giant that has committed over $27 billion to Bitcoin, making it a significant player in the crypto space. Since adopting Bitcoin as its primary Treasury reserve asset in 2020, MicroStrategy's stock has surged nearly 600% in the past year. Strive anticipates that a minimum of 80% of the ETF's exposure will come from “bitcoin bonds” issued by MicroStrategy and other similar companies.

Management Team

The fund will be managed by Matthew Cole, the CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Strive, alongside portfolio managers Jeffrey Sherman and Randol Curtis, who also serves as CIO for Strive’s wealth management division.

Strive's profile has gained momentum, particularly following Trump's recent electoral victory. Ramaswamy, a staunch Trump supporter, is set to lead a new government efficiency department alongside Elon Musk after Trump takes office.
