Former US President Donald Trump has pledged to commute the sentence of Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht if he is re-elected in November's election.
Ulbricht, known as "Dread Pirate Roberts," was convicted in 2015 for operating the first modern darknet market, Silk Road. He is currently serving two life terms and forty years without parole.
Trump stated that Ulbricht has served 11 years and will be brought home if he is re-elected.
Silk Road, launched in 2011, used Bitcoin (BTC) for its payment system.
