Trump's Vision: A National Bitcoin Reserve and a New Era for Crypto in America

Trump Promises a National Bitcoin Reserve
Former President Donald Trump has boldly declared his intention to establish a strategic national Bitcoin reserve if he is re-elected in November. During a speech at a Bitcoin conference in Nashville, attended by around 3,000 supporters, he urged listeners to "never sell your Bitcoin."
A Clear Stance Against SEC Chair
In addition to his Bitcoin pledge, Trump stated he would fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler on his first day in office, signaling a dramatic shift in regulatory approach towards cryptocurrencies.
U.S. as a Crypto Superpower
Trump emphasized the importance of the U.S. becoming a crypto capital and superpower, warning that if the nation does not take action, countries like China will take the lead in cryptocurrency. He expressed a desire for cryptocurrency to be mined, minted, and made in the U.S.
Bitcoin's Future Value
Applauded by the crowd, Trump expressed admiration for the Bitcoin community, suggesting that Bitcoin, currently the 9th most valuable asset in the world, could potentially surpass gold's market cap. He likened Bitcoin's significance to that of the steel industry from a century ago.
A Shift in Perspective
Once skeptical of Bitcoin, viewing it as a threat to the U.S. dollar, Trump now asserts that Bitcoin is not a threat and promises that if elected, there will be no central bank digital currency (CBDC).
Additional Promises
Trump also promised to commute the life sentence of Ross Ulbricht, the mastermind behind the Silk Road darknet marketplace, showcasing his commitment to the crypto community.
Legislative Support
During the same conference, Senator Cynthia Lummis from Wyoming introduced legislation for a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve for the United States. Additionally, David Bailey, CEO of the Bitcoin conference, presented Trump with one Bitcoin on behalf of the Bitcoin community.
Looking Ahead
The next Bitcoin conference, Bitcoin 2025, is set to take place in Las Vegas next year, continuing the momentum for the cryptocurrency movement.
